BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND COMPUTER INFORMATION BE09 SYSTEMS (BA/CIS)
½ credit-semester or 1 credit-year
Prerequisite: Grades 11-12, Information Technology and Multimedia or BCA

This course covers business and technical skills necessary for working in an office and/or the information technology field. Projects are designed to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, digitools, desktop publishing, business math, telephone skills, proofreading, records management, and numerous other areas. Students will be provided an opportunity to experience in-depth training in working on projects utilizing graphics, electronic music, video, and web design as well as e-commerce and integrated computer applications. They also will have an opportunity to work on becoming a certified Microsoft Office Specialist in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Students will work in a business atmosphere as they complete skills toward receiving certification as Business Administrative Specialist or Computer Information Systems Specialist. Students will have individualized plans allowing them to repeat the course.
