FOUNDATIONS OF WEB DESIGN I
½ credit-semester
Prerequisite: Grades 11-12, Information Technology and Multimedia or BCA

This is a project-based course that teaches the professional web design and development process using Macromedia web tools. Skills will be developed that lay the foundation for producing web-ready communications: graphic design principles, storyboards, development, peer review, and redesign. Project activities focus on developing effective personal communications. Students develop a variety of graphical images, an electronic portfolio, a web photo album, and interactive graphics.

FOUNDATIONS OF WEB DESIGN II
½ credit-semester
Prerequisite: Grades 11-12, Foundations of Web Design (BE06).

Foundations of Web Design II is a project-based course that teaches the professional web design and development process using Macromedia web tools. This second semester builds on student design and development skills by shifting perspective from the personal to the local community. Students will work on teams and produce web communications for clients. The focus is on effective teamwork and shared project management skills such as interviewing and project scheduling. They produce design documents and visual projects that clients review. They develop website designs that solve specific communication challenges. They build technical skills to address client needs for their website.
